Tenzin Delek Rinpoche was a renowned 65-year-old Buddhist teacher, who became the latest in a long line of Tibetans to die in Chinese prison, sparking international outrage and protests against China. An educator, a spiritual teacher, an environmentalist, and an indefatigable advocate of Tibetan welfare, he was exactly the kind of Tibetan that China can’t stand.
We are devastated to learn that Tenzin Delek Rinpoche, an innocent and revered Tibetan Buddhist monk and community leader has died in Chinese prison on July 12th, after 13 years of unjust imprisonment. Despite the unimaginable suffering he faced at the hands of the Chinese, he refused to bow his head and he never gave up his fight for justice. Rinpoche’s undefeated spirit lives on.
China must answer for this crime. Sign the petition urging our leaders to call for an international inquiry into the death of Tenzin Delek. www.JusticeForTenzin.org
