American University: Tibetan Youth Summit
March 3 @ 2:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Over the past years, Tibet Lobby Day has drawn hundreds of Tibetan leaders and non-Tibetan supporters from dozens of college campuses around the US to Washington D.C. This is a great opportunity to strengthen the community of young Tibetan leaders and non-Tibetan supporters, and share ideas on how we can be more effective and impactful leaders within our communities.
This year, SFT’s chapter at American University (AU Friends of Tibet) is hosting all students/young adults participating in Tibet Lobby Day for a Tibetan Youth Summit Saturday, March 3. The event seeks to connect young Tibetan leaders and engage them in discussion on critical issues ranging from strategies for on-campus organizing, to building youth power through lobbying! The event will feature speakers, a workshop on lobbying, and an open forum discussion for chapters to engage in discussion on the campaigns and projects they have been working on over the past year.
The event check-in will begin at 2:30 PM. Programming will run from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Following the Summit programming, there will be a community dinner hosted by AU Friends of Tibet for all participants from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM to give participants an opportunity to engage in informal discussions and build cross-chapter.
