London, UK: Free Tashi Wangchuk! – 100 Days w/ No Verdict
April 14 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
April 14, 2018 will mark 100 days since Tashi Wangchuk’s closed-door trial concluded with no verdict reached by the court. If Tashi Wangchuk is not released by the time we reach this 100-day mark, join us in the streets to raise the alarm for Tashi Wangchuk’s case. We will garner public support and let the world know that we will not stand by silent as an innocent man is held prisoner.
Organized by Tibetan Community in Britain, Students for a Free Tibet UK and Free Tibet.
Tibetan shopkeeper, Tashi Wangchuk, 31, was detained on January 27, 2016, after appearing in a New York Times video in which he advocated for the rights of Tibetans to learn and study in their mother tongue. In March, 2016, he was charged with “inciting separatism,” and faces up to 15 years in prison, despite his clear statement not calling for Tibetan Independence.
