[London] Solidarity Action Against Torture in China

December 10, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

On Human Rights Day (10 December 2016), the Tibetan Uyghur Chinese Solidarity coalition will be gathering opposite Downing Street to petition the UK government to take action to stop torture and arbitrary detention in China, Tibet and East Turkestan.

Join us on Human Rights Day to express solidarity with people living under the oppressive Chinese government, and to raise public awareness of torture and detention in China, Tibet and East Turkestan.

We will gather outside Downing Street at 12 noon, deliver our petition at 12:15pm, and walk up Whitehall from Downing Street to Trafalgar Square at 12:30pm, where we will stay until 2pm, making sure our message is heard by everyone who passes by. We will honour political prisoners and victims of torture and highlight the cases of three prisoners of conscience, and demand that the UK government uphold their international human rights obligations by urging China to release all political prisoners.

All are welcome!
